ABSTRACT:
A dual durometer self-locking, self-sealing plug for filling and sealing holes in panels and a continuous method for making same is disclosed. The unitary plugs have the same shape as the opening to be filled and comprise a hard hole-filling, locking portion united with a softer sealing portion that is elastomeric and seals by 360.degree. contact with the inner periphery of the opening. The plug is made from two different, chemically compatible thermoplastic materials by coinjection of the two molten components sequentially into a mold and cooling them concurrently to form the unitary plug.
