ABSTRACT:
Magnesium stearate is added to dry blended detergent or detergent additive compositions in order to disperse the compositions in wash water and prevent the formation of large insoluble lumps when the formulation is used in cold washing water, generally below 75.degree. F. The formulations also include a major proportion of one or more unhydrated or partially hydrated hydratable detergent builder salts, at least half of which is sodium carbonate, together with up to 30% by weight of a synthetic detergent active compound or mixture of such compounds.
