ABSTRACT:
A door restraint mechanism for preventing the opening of a door positioned in a doorway having a jamb, the door including a handle. A pair of frame members are each provided with a compression spring for transmitting force to a door handle shoe. An over-center lever compresses the spring to exert force between the door handle shoe abutting the door handle and a pressure face secured to said frame and positioned against said door jamb. The pressure face tightly grips the door jamb and prevents the door from being opened.
