An apparatus and method for information storage and retrieval of communication network performance data includes a first step200of obtaining performance data from network entities. A next step202includes generating a rating for the performance data relating to how interesting that data is to network entities. A next step204includes archiving a portion of the performance data in response to the rating of the performance data.
