ABSTRACT:
A disposable absorbent article10that includes an absorbent mat13between a liquid permeable top sheet11and a liquid impermeable back sheet12, the absorbent mat13including a sheet-like water absorbent layer15that contains water absorbent resin powders14but that does not contain pulp fibers therein, and fiber assembly layers17A and17B each of which mainly consists of the pulp fibers16, sequentially from the side of the top sheet11, the sheet-like water absorbent layer15alternately including a plurality of water absorbent resin powder existing regions15a, in each of which the water absorbent resin powders14are wrapped in two non-woven fabric sheets20and21, and a plurality of water absorbent resin powder non-existing regions15b, in each of which the water absorbent resin powders14are not wrapped in the two non-woven fabric sheets20and21, in a width direction, wherein rising flaps18are provided on both sides of the sheet-like water absorbent layer15, respectively. Bottom ends18aof the rising flaps18are bonded to the top sheet11corresponding to the water absorbent resin powder non-existing regions15b-1and15b-2located on both lateral ends of the sheet-like water absorbent layer15, respectively.
