ABSTRACT:
A color cathode ray tube panel has a glass face portion including a substantially flat outer surface facing a viewer and an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is coated. The inner surface is concavely curved with a radius of curvature R.sub.x in a direction of a horizontal axis of the cathode ray tube, and the following conditions are satisfied: ##EQU1## where W.sub.h denotes a horizontal width of an effective area of picture in the face portion, L denotes an optimum viewing distance, n.sub.1 denotes a refractive index of the face portion, and t denotes a thickness of the face portion at its center.
