ABSTRACT:
A display device is provided which produces a bright display and prevents parallax. Aluminum electrodes, color filters, a polarized light separator and a diffusion layer are provided in this order between a glass substrate and a STN liquid crystal inward of the glass substrate. A polarized light separator is used in which, of the light incident on the STN liquid crystal 50 side, a linearly-polarized light component in a predetermined second direction is transmitted as linearly-polarized light in the second direction, and a linearly-polarized light component in a third direction perpendicular to the predetermined second direction is reflected, and the light incident on a same side as the aluminum electrodes is emitted as linearly-polarized light in the second direction to a same side as the STN liquid crystal.
