ABSTRACT:
A dashpot type electrolyte ampule for a deferred action battery is descri. The dashpot is designed to provide a damping force which varies as a function of piston position within the ampule. A maximum damping force is provided at the initial position of the piston and a minimum damping force is provided at the further most point of piston travel, just before rupture of the ampule. Various ampule designs are described to provide the variable damping force desired.
