ABSTRACT:
A disk device1comprising a disk cartridge3and a disk2accommodated therein. The disk cartridge3includes a body case1with a window for exposing a recording surface5of the disk2; and provided with a shutter body25to be moved in a manner capable of opening/closing the window. The body case11is provided with a rotating body30in a gear shape. Provided in a disk driving apparatus for recording a piece of information into or reproducing the information from the disk2are: a guiding rib; and an operation rack along the disk inserting direction. Upon insertion of the disk device1into the disk driving apparatus, the guiding rib causes rotation regulator40to rotate so that the rotation regulator40is disengaged from the rotating body30and the operation rack engages with the rotating body30to thereby rotate the rotating body30, thereby opening/closing the shutter body25via shutter opening/closing mechanism35.
