ABSTRACT:
An apparatus arranged to use a flexible magnetic disc housed in a cassette and having a center core provided with an engaging hole, includes a disc rotating spindle having a flange and engageable with the hole at the center core of the disc, a cassette holder movable between a first position for receiving the cassette and a second position for positioning the received cassette at a predetermined position relative to the spindle, a pressing member for pressing the engaging portion of the disc against the flange of the spindle, and a control mechanism for operating the pressing member and thereafter disabling the pressing member during the movement of the cassette holder from its first to its second position.
