ABSTRACT:
A direct positive photographic material which has at least one previously-not-fogged internal latent image-type silver halide emulsion layer on a support, wherein the photographic material contains at least one compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, a cyano group, --COOR.sub.5, --CONR.sub.5 R.sub.6, --OR.sub.5, --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6, --NR.sub.6 COR.sub.7, --NR.sub.5 CONR.sub.5 R.sub.6, --NR.sub.6 SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 (each of R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sub.7 represents an alkyl or aryl group; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, or R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 may link together to form a 5- or 6-membered ring); each of R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; each of Q.sub.1 and Q.sub.2 represents an aryl group; each of X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 represents a bond or a divalent linking group; each of Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 represents a sulfo group or a carboxyl group; each of L.sub.1, L.sub.2 and L.sub.3 represents a methine group; n represents 0, 1, or 2; each of m.sub.1 and m.sub.2 represents 1 or 2; each of p.sub.1 and p.sub.2 represents 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; and each of q.sub.1 and q.sub.2 represents 1 or 2.
The photographic materials show no change in photographic performance after preservation under high temperature and high humidity and give images of high sharpness.
