ABSTRACT:
A system comprising a diphosphine of the formulain-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R1>P—(CH)n—PR2R3in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?whereR1is a divalent radical which together with the phosphorus atom to which it is linked forms an unsubstituted or substituted 2-phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.1{3,7}]decyl group or a derivative thereof in which one or more of the carbon atoms are replaced by heteroatoms,R2, R3are each, independently of one another, a monovalent radical having from 1 to 20 atoms or together form a divalent radical having from 2 to 20 atoms,n is 4 or 5,and a mixture of such diphosphines, and palladium or a palladium compound is suitable as carbonylation catalyst for the carbonylation of a conjugated diene.
