ABSTRACT:
Diphenyl ethers of the formula ##STR1## where Z.sup.1 is hydrogen or halogen, Z.sup.2 is halogen, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each hydrogen or alkyl, R.sup.4 is alkyl or an araliphatic radical and n is a number from 1 to 8, are used for controlling undesirable plant growth.
