ABSTRACT:
An internal gear10is rotatably received within a housing8(planetary carrier2and case4), and a sun gear12is rotatably disposed on a circle located inside of and concentric with the internal gear10. Planet gears14which are carried within carrying openings2cformed in a planetary carrier2are disposed between the internal gear10and the sun gear12in meshing engagement with the internal gear10and the sun gear12. The internal gear10, the sun gear12and the planet gears14each have spherical gear teeth, and develops a thrust upon occurrence of a relative rotation therebetween. A coupling16is connected to the inner periphery of the internal gear10through helical splines10dand16afor purpose of power transmission. The helical splines provide a novel thrust generating mechanism, which enlarges the extent in which a bias ratio can be adjusted.
