ABSTRACT:
A speed governor for a diesel engine having a fuel pump mechanically driven by the engine. The governor comprises a hydraulically activated valve. A first fuel line connects the valve to the fuel pump and a second fuel line connects the valve to the fuel injectors. The valve is activated by increasing fuel pressure to decrease the flow of fuel through the fuel lines and is activated by decreasing fuel pressure to increase the flow of fuel through the lines.
