ABSTRACT:
A functionalized polymer includes a diene-type polymer having an alkoxysilane, aryloxysilane or aralkyloxysilane group, wherein the functionalized polymer has a molecular structure represented by at least one of the following formula(1), formula(2), and formula(3): ##STR1## Further, an elastomeric composition is provided which includes a rubber material containing the functionalized polymer, and a filler such as white carbon. The functional polymer and the elastomeric composition exhibit excellent fracture properties, abrasion resistance, and low hysteresis (low rolling resistance and low fuel consumption).
