ABSTRACT:
A dichromatic coloring matter for a colored liquid crystal display element comprising a compound of the general formula: ##STR1## where A and B each stand for ##STR2## where n is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4, and X and Y each stand for ##STR3## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 stand for an alkyl group or hydrogen, --R (alkyl group) or --OR (alkoxy group).
