ABSTRACT:
Novel diazepinium compounds having the structural formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 are individually alkyl of 3 to 7 carbon atoms R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are individually H or alkyl; and X.crclbar. is an anion. The compounds are of the class of amidiniums, useful as dyes. The compounds are particularly useful in antireflective layers having unexpected thermal resistance for use in photoresist applications.
