ABSTRACT:
A diamond coated metal silicide-containing composition selected from the group consisting of Mi.sub.x Si.sub.y +Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 and M.sub.x Si.sub.y +SiC, wherein M is a transition metal selected from the group consisting of cobalt, iron, nickel, molybdenum, and mixtures thereof, and x and y each may be the same or a different integer, preferably wherein the ratio of x:y is .gtoreq.1.
