ABSTRACT:
Diagnostic agent for the detection of leukocytes in body fluids, comprising an absorbent carrier which is impregnated with a chromogen and a buffer substance, wherein the chromogen is a sulfonphthalein ester of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a carboxylic acid residue optionally substituted by halogen or lower alkoxy; or is an amino acid or peptide residue having a nitrogen protective group;
