ABSTRACT:
A system is disclosed for conveying network identifications of HVAC master controllers within an HVAC communication network to their respective zone controllers. Each master controller addresses and transmits its network identification to zone controllers within a predefined range of network addresses unless it encounters another master controller. The network identifications are used by the zone controllers to identify messages from their respective master controllers.
