ABSTRACT:
A target throwing device, particularly for throwing frangible targets, such as "clay targets", has a first pivotal shaft, an arm mounted to said first shaft for throwing a target, and a spring connected to said first shaft by means of an eccentric wheel for rotation of the throwing arm during a target throwing operation. A second pivotal shaft which is essentially coaxial with said first shaft, has a drive motor coupled thereto for rotation thereof. Furthermore, the first and second shafts are interconnected so as to permit mutually independent rotation of the first and second shafts through an angle of between essentially 180.degree. and 360.degree., whereby the spring can rotate the first shaft at a high speed during the throwing operation.
