ABSTRACT:
A device for sequentially feeding a plurality of disk-shaped recording media in an apparatus for performing a data recording or reproducing operation on a rotating disk-shaped recording medium. The device includes loading members, each of which holds one disk-shaped recording medium and each of which is rotatable about a common axis. A swinging mechanism swings a selected one of the loading members about the common axis through a predetermined angle to a feeding position. A lifting apparatus lifts the disk-shaped recording medium selected by the selected one of the loading members into a position at which the data recording or reproducing operation can be performed. A microprocessor controls the operation of the swinging mechanism and the lifting apparatus. In this manner, a plurality of disk-shaped recording media can be sequentially subjected to a data recording or reproducing operation without the intervention of an operator. Further, the disk-shaped recording media can be individually selected for the data recording or reproducing operation in any desired order. The device is particularly suitable for use with a compact disk player, for allowing a plurality of compact disks to be sequentially fed for the data reproducing operation in any desired order.
