ABSTRACT:
A clamping device comprises an angle member carrying a clamping mechanism and a clamping band which is engaged by the clamping mechanism at one end and engages around and holds the workpieces to be joined firmly in contact with each other, and is attached, by its other end, to an anchor. The anchor may be provided on the angle member or on a tensioning angle member. To tension the band, the clamping mechanism is mounted on a slide 3 which is displaceable by a pulling means operating thereon and which comprises a screw and a nut.
