ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a device and a method for coating preferably webs or strip-like material and in particular to a method and a device for adapting the coating width of such devices. In particular, the present invention moreover relates to the field of liquid coatings by means of slot coating systems. The present invention provides a device and a method in which the coating width is adaptable via limiting means that are movable relative to each other. According to an additional or further preferred embodiment of the invention, the coating width is limited by means of a confining fluid. Preferably, a continuous material web is simulated by means of the confining fluid in the edge area.
