An optical axis alignment apparatus10has a chuck13for holding an optical member14, a chuck16for holding an optical member15, a pushing mechanism, which pushes the chuck1to generate a predetermined frictional force between the optical member14and the optical member15, and actuators18A to18D. The actuators18A to18D have a piezoelectric element51bwhich generates an impulsive inertial force by abrupt extension and contraction.
