ABSTRACT:
Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes strain NRRL B-18087 was isolated as a pure culture from the Baton Rouge sewage treatment plant. The strain can utilize chlorinated aromatic compounds as the sole carbon source and will degrade both 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T), as well as other xenobiotic compounds.
