ABSTRACT:
Detergent bar binder comprising (a) fatty acid or alcohol component having an iodine number less than about 20 and a melting point of at least about 50.degree. C. and being selected from the group consisting of fatty acids or alcohols having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms, mono-, di- or triglycerides of such fatty acids, fatty acid esters of such fatty alcohols and mixtures thereof and (b) alkyl amide represented by the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 represents a straight chain alkyl radical containing from 10 to 22 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 represents hydrogen or an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms. The binder is used in a non-soap detergent bar containing anionic foaming and foam boosting detergents.
