A delivery apparatus for folding machines having a folding apparatus FA and a delivery apparatus DA, comprising a delivery fly3for receiving signatures S1, S2and S3folded by the folding apparatus FA, a conveyor C for operating the delivery fly3at a predetermined speed ratio and receiving the signatures S1, S2and S3from the delivery fly3, a gear drive1having a plurality of gear ratios provided between the folding apparatus FA and the delivery fly3for transmitting power to the delivery fly3, and changeover means2capable of selectively changing over the gear ratio of the gear drive1, so that the operating speed of the delivery fly3can be set to a plurality of speed steps with respect to the operating speed of the folding apparatus FA.
