ABSTRACT:
.alpha.-Alkylbenzyl alcohol and substituted .alpha.-alkylbenzyl alcohols are converted in high yield and purity to styrene and substituted styrenes by contacting the alcohol in vapor phase with a high efficiency silica gel catalyst.
