A de-icing agent containing a) between 45 and 55 wt. % of an alkali metal acetate, b) between 0.001 and 1.0 wt. % of a surfactant, c) between 0.0001 and 1.0 wt. % of an anti-foaming agent, d) between 0.001 and 1.0 wt. % of a corrosion inhibitor, and a sufficient amount of water to complete 100 wt. %.
