ABSTRACT:
A data storage-playback apparatus includes a head for storing and playing data which is movable on the data storage media. A guide rail guides the head along a predetermined direction of the data storage media. The guide rail is composed of a ferromagnetic substance and passes through a coil. The coil is fixed to the head. A yoke is magnetically connected with the guide rail. A permanent magnet is fixed to the yoke and oriented with a magnetic direction aligned toward a curved surface of the coil. A length of the permanent magnet along the magnetic direction is larger than a height of the permanent magnet along a direction perpendicular to both the magnetic direction and a length direction of the guide rail.
