ABSTRACT:
A common electrical bus is provided for coupling a plurality of units in a data processing system for transfer of information therebetween. The units are coupled in a priority arrangement which is distributed in each of the units thereby making a bus monitor unnecessary. The bus transfer cycles are generated in an asynchronous manner.
