ABSTRACT:
To provide a data communication device capable of performing a stable human body communication by bringing the human body into contact with electrodes or proximities thereof without requiring user's attention when the data communication device held by the user is in the process of the human body communication. A transceiver electrode103and a reference electrode104are formed on concave portions102formed at positions where the user's fingers can be naturally brought into contact with the concave portions102when a data communication device10is held by one of the user's hands, such that the surfaces of the electrodes have a height slightly lower than those of the lateral portions of the housing101. The transceiver electrode103and the reference electrode104are electrically connected, via a lead line106, to a data communication unit105accommodated in the housing101and having a function of transmitting and receiving data. By bringing a communication party holding the data communication device10into contact with a human body and thus forming a closed circuit, data can be transmitted or received to and from the data communication unit105via the human body.
