ABSTRACT:
Metabolites of the D-isomer of propranolol show potent antioxidant activity, independent of .beta.-blocker activity, that make them useful for the treatment of all conditions that can be treated by antioxidants, or any disease that is responsive to antioxidant treatment, for example, diseases or disorders of the cardiovascular system, heart failure, myocardial infraction, atherosclerosis, stroke, hypertension, ischemia/reperfusion injury an inflammatory processes.
