ABSTRACT:
A cylinder lubricating oil composition characterized by having a Total Base Number from about 50 to 100 comprising a mineral lubricating oil, from 10 to 20 percent of an overbased calcium sulfonate and an N-alkylglycine derivative having the formula: ##STR1## in which R is a hydrocarbyl radical having from about 10 to 25 carbon atoms, R' represents hydrogen or an alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or an aminoalkyl radical having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms and R" represents an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl radical having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --NH).sub.x H radical in which x has a value from 1 to 3, or ##STR2## in which X represents an oxygen atom or a divalent N--R' radical and R and R' have the values noted above.
