ABSTRACT:
An improvement in a process for decomposing mixtures of cyclohexane and cyclohexyl hydroperoxide is provided. According to the improved process, a mixture comprising cyclohexane and cyclohexyl hydroperoxide is contacted with a catalyst consisting essentially of Co.sub.3 O.sub.4, MnO.sub.2, or Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 applied to a suitable solid support, at a temperature from about 80.degree. C. to about 130.degree. C., in the presence of molecular oxygen.
