ABSTRACT:
A compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein n, p, q, X, Y, Z and Ar are as defined herein, useful in the treatment of arthritis, cancer, tissue ulceration, restenosis, periodontal disease, epidermolysis bullosa, scleritis or other diseases characterized by matrix metalloprotenase activity, as well as AIDS, sepsis, septic shock or other diseases involving the production of TNF.
