A lockable toggle joint (4,5) for a cycle rack with pair of scissor shaped branches (2, 3) and scissor joint (7, 71, 72) comprising suitably shaped holding means (8A, 5 8B) for the holding of the rack to a conventional trailer ball hitch (1) at the rear of an autombile and carrying means (2A, 3A) for the bicycles comprises snaplock and interlock means (6) which is lockable.
