ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a crystalline form of diastereomeric L-.alpha.-methyldopa POE ester, also referred to as (R),(S)-.alpha.-pivaloyloxyethyl-(S)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-2-methylalani nate and a process for its isolation. Also disclosed is an improved process for the formation of diastereomeric L-.alpha.-methyldopa POE ester.
