Structurally colored polymers, formed by polymerizing monomers of the acrylic type, containing 0.5% to 20% by weight of dyestuff in copolymerized form or grafted form which have a number-average molecular weight between 1000 and 12,880 g. and contain m hydroxy functions and n groups of the formula: ##STR1## in which X.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine or methyl;
