ABSTRACT:
A crossarm assembly for installation on a utility pole includes a horizontally disposed cross arm. First and second box channels matingly interfit about the cross arm at a location generally equidistant the ends of the cross arm. The channels provide structural support for the cross arm to substantially reduce the amount of the deflection occurring at the end of the cross arm when the assembly is subjected to a load. A pole gain is integrated into an extrusion flange on one side of the box channels for attaching the channels to the pole and to add structural stability. The assembly includes attachment schackles by which conductor "dead ends" can be connected to the assembly when it serving as a "dead-end" assembly.
