The subject of the present disclosure is a new and distinct variety of crape-myrtle, named `Summer Venus`, which is characterized by its bright purplish red blooms, its dwarf habit, its extremely heavy branching habit and its extremely numerous amount of blooms. The new variety is hardy and well-branched.
