ABSTRACT:
A cracking catalyst composition co-impregnated with a combination of a rare earth oxide and with either chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel or platinum group metals. Such catalyst compositions, when used in fluidized catalytic cracking processes, result in significant reductions of sulfur content in the coke produced thereby, in turn significantly reducing sulfur oxide (SO.sub.x) emission in the regeneration stack gases.
