ABSTRACT:
An amorphous mineralized coating upon an iron containing surface wherein the amorphous mineralized coating has a formula A.sub.x B.sub.y O.sub.z --nH.sub.2 O wherein A comprises iron and B comprises silicon and the values of x, y and z are greater than zero; wherein the amorphous mineralized coating comprises an amorphous phase and inorganic complex oxide crystals.
