ABSTRACT:
A cordless iron includes a stand and an iron body placeable on and detachable from the stand. The iron body has a sole plate. The sole plate of the iron body is heated when the iron body is placed on the stand. An electrically powered temperature sensor senses the temperature of the sole plate of the iron body and outputs a signal representative of that sensed temperature. An alarm device responsive to the signal outputted from the temperature sensor serves to indicate that the sensed temperature drops to or below a reference temperature. The temperature sensor is kept activated when the iron body is detached from the stand.
