ABSTRACT:
In a cop preparation station having a customary thread detector and an additional thread detector the presence or absence of the upper portion of the thread package and optionally of the lower portion of the thread package of a cop is first detected by light barriers or sensors. A suitable thread finding device is then used in dependence on these values which are found.
The application also describes the cooperation of the cop preparation station with a rewinding machine.
