Methyl methacrylate and methyl .alpha.-n-alkylacrylate wherein the alkyl up may vary from 10 to 22 carbon atoms copolymerize at about 50.degree.C in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile to form polymers having low coefficients of friction and good wear properties.
