ABSTRACT:
A cooling composition comprising at least one compound of the Formula Iin which R is selected from the group of moieties consisting of(CH2)nCOOR″;(CH2)nCONMe2;(CH2)nOR″; andCHNH2CH3;where n is 1-3 and R″ is independently selected from hydrogen, methyl and ethyl; andR′ is selected from the group consisting of the moieties fenchyl, D-bornyl, L-bornyl, exo-norbornyl, 2-methylisobornyl, 2-ethylfenchyl, 2-methylbornyl, cis-pinan-2-yl, verbanyl and isobornyl.The compositions are useful in providing cooling sensations to the skin or mucous membranes of the body.
