A vertical feed apparatus for conveying a continuous stack of cigarettes upwards and/or downwards includes one or two bands which convey the stack around a rotatable member, from a horizontal conveyor to a pair of vertical conveyors, the bands being laterally offset from the horizontal and vertical conveyors.
